I Know What I've Become

In order to prove that my listening pattern not only lies within this list, I will be filling up these month's posts with new-to-me bands, songs, and remixes that I've discovered and therefore cherished the most throughout last year. To kick it off, is the chillwave infused sunny surf-pop of Millionyoung.

I first took notice of Millionyoung, aka Mike Diaz upon listening to his rendition of Neon Indian's 'Local Joke'. Diaz's take is far more upbeat and accessible, unveiling a more relaxed and chilled vibe to the otherwise frigid and detached nature of the original. The dazzling, luminous dreamscapes in the laidback tunes of Millionyoung are evocative of the glittering, gauzy reflections from the gleaming sunlight found on water surfaces-- it's perfectly blissful I guess is what I'm trying to say. Millionyoung will also be releasing his debut LP some time this month, and as an added bonus, here's a taster of what to expect from said LP:
