I only found this out quite recently, which most of you may have already known; Nikolai wrote a score for a short film called
A Kind of Dream. It’s old news I know, but what I didn’t know was that Nikolai had a part in the film as well, that being the lead character. So now the Strokes’ bassist can also add ‘actor’ to his resume, earning him a dozen more brownie points than the rest of the band members.
But the real reason why I wrote this post was because of this song:

The vocals could use some polishing, but apart from that, it's one of his finest. And although I hate to bring this up, I can’t help imagining Julian doing ten times better for the vocal duties. Also included is a pretty piano section achieved with the help of, correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's Regina Spektor.
