The musical corners where New York shoegaze/noise-rock band, Asobi Seksu dwells in, leaks with copious layers of blurry, out-of-focus instrumentation; and because of that, the beauty in their music is boundless and plentiful. Massive guitar reverbs intertwined with Yuki Chikudate’s hazy and seemingly sweet vocals creates swirling delights that’s hypnotic enough to put you to sleep. But the songs immediately soar into epic dimensions, bringing forth energy and melodic intrigue to keep you engaged till the very end. Asobi Seksu makes music that will take you on a journey through passages of lush pop sounds, noisy atmospherics, and layers upon layers of ethereal dreamscapes. You should listen-- in fact; I’m going to indulge in some myself.The band’s also got a new record in the works-- which is some pretty exciting news.
